The following questions have been adapted from the screening tool developed by Wellspring Living. Affirmative responses do not necessarily indicate that an individual is a victim of trafficking, but multiple affirmative responses should be investigated by law enforcement.
If the questions are asked of the youth, first ensure a comfortable and safe environment. Invite the youth to elaborate on any of the questions as appropriate, but it is advised that the interviewer give the youth full control of his/her responses and not probe unduly. Questions may be rephrased for understanding or answered by other sources such as a parent, counselor, or caseworker.
Thank you for your referral! Please complete this form to request services from New Hope for children with a known or suspected history of trafficking or sexual exploitation who meet the “Referral Criteria.”
Services Offered: New Hope seeks to provide:
In the event that DHS should be contacted concerning care for any trafficking survivors not within the AR DHS system, New Hope will accept referrals from any location in Arkansas to assist in finding restorative placements for these survivors. Our contact information may be shared with any agency or individual.
Referral Criteria: New Hope will accept NEW REFERRALS for youth meeting these criteria:
New Hope staff will meet with the foster family and with the youth themselves prior to assignment of a volunteer mentor. A mentor will be assigned who is of the same sex as the student. Where available, we will attempt to assign a mentor of the same race as the student as well to provide a positive role model to whom the student can readily relate. However, volunteer availability may prevent assignment of a mentor of the same race.
