Every Christmas season is a time to reflect on how truly blessed we each are. All the things that I have in resources and support are so great in comparison to many around the world and especially those being trafficked.
We at New Hope are so thankful to you, our supporters, for continuing to pay attention to and care about our mission. We all hope for a world in which survivors of human trafficking are restored to freedom and equipped to make choices that continue their freedom throughout life. We wish you and your family the very merriest Christmas and a happy New Year!
Virtual Tea Party!!
Let’s face it. No one wants to leave the house in January. It’s cold and you’re tired from holiday parties. So, we made it easy for you to support a great cause, learn about trafficking prevention, and not even leave the couch! Message us your address on Facebook to receive tea, information about trafficking, and how to support our mission. We hope to see you there! https://www.facebook.com/newhopeyoutharkansas
We Made A Movie!
To help promote our Mentor Program, we made a short film with the help of some amazing volunteer actors. Our very own Art Heathcock wrote, directed, and edited the project.
The Mentor Program is designed to give children in foster care, who have a known or suspected history of trafficking, an adult mentor trained to their specific needs that can support them emotionally and spiritually. Click the link to watch! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YW8ehYARfBE
Coming Up
At New Hope, we are always looking for new ways to support survivors of sex trafficking and spread awareness. Two exciting events happening soon include:
- An opportunity to train local hotel employees about how to spot trafficking and how to call for help as well as placing material for survivors in hotels so they have access to information that could save their life.
- Our clinical director will be meeting with Psychiatrists graduating from UAMS to educate them on the specific challenges facing trafficking survivors.
Don’t Forget Our Blog
A great way to stay up to date on the hearts and minds of the New Hope staff is to read our blog! We post periodically about important topics related to our faith, the direction of the organization, or our opinions on topics related to trafficking. We each take turns speaking from our unique perspectives as executive director, pastor, therapist, and board, to reach out and connect to our supporters. We would love your input and feedback on these issues. Give it a read! https://www.newhopeyouth.org/blog/
